Over the weekend, Josh Tate walked around a 100-ft track from 8p on Saturday to 8p on Sunday. He finished 3,082 laps, nearly 60 miles, and raised $25,000 to help care for orphans through Children’s HoepChest
We salute Josh and thank him for his sacrifice. Here’s a little piece from Josh’s blog about why he chose Hell Walk as his creative way to give back to a world in need.
“On May 1, 2011 I am going to walk for 24 straight hours, completing approximately 3,500 grueling, tiny, maddening laps. It is designed to be physically and mentally exhausting. This was not an arbitrary decision. Earlier I mentioned that the very premise of Hell Walk was absurd.
“However, it is no more absurd than the fact that we still have enormous deficits of care when it comes certain people in the world. The absurdity of walking in a tiny circle from sunrise to sunrise reflects the same absurdity that affects far too many people. Equally, the suffering felt by the person walking in a circle for hours on end mirrors the suffering that those in need endure every day.”
Thank you Josh for completing the Hell Walk and helping care for orphans through Children’s HopeChest.
