HopeChest 2010 Year in Review

02/04/2011, 06:56

I want to thank you for your generous gifts to Children’s HopeChest in 2010.  When I reflect upon 2010, I think of this verse from an old hymn: To God be the Glory! Great things He hath done! God transformed our year into abundant blessing filled with growth, expansion, and ministry to more orphans than ever. Just a few stats:

  • Over 3,000 families are now sponsoring a child at one of our programs
  • Nearly 1,000 volunteers visited their children this year on mission trips
  • Clean water provided for 22 CarePoints and 6,000 children in Uganda and Swaziland
  • Over 550 tons of food and meals delivered to 3,180 children in Swaziland
  • Shoes and school uniforms purchased for hundreds of children in Ethiopia, Uganda, and Swaziland
  • Protection for 400 children at Ministry Centers in Russia for girls at-risk for prostitution
  • Christian discipleship for well over 10,000 children in 9 countries
  • Serving orphans in 9 countries, adding five in 2010: India, Haiti, Guatemala, Moldova, & South Africa
  • Added 25 new church partners/communities who are now directly engaged in orphan care

We estimate total contributions will near $4.5 million, more than we’ve ever received. Please note that the financial information below is only for the first 11 months of our fiscal year. For the period 1/1/10 through 11/30/10, we received over $3.7 million in cash contributions.

This Spring, Children’s HopeChest will have a full independent audit of our 2010 financial statements, and once that is complete our audited financial statements will be posted on our Web site. To see previous statements from 2009 and earlier, go to http://www.hopechest.org/about-us

We thank God for this exciting time of growth & expansion. Thank you for being a part of the HopeChest family of ministry partners!
