	Kid’s Space

Hello dear friends,

How have you been? The summer was wonderful. We enjoyed summer time because we could spend a lot of time outdoors. There is a big school yard where we play. The caregivers allowed us to take our toys with us so we could play with them outside. The teachers and caregivers came up with different fun activities for us all the time. Our personal favorite was Graffiti Contest, we drew on the asphalt with colored chalk and than we chose the best picture. When the weather was nice and warm the caregivers took us to the local park, where they told us a lot of interesting stuff about the park and our town and then we played different games.

And in July we went to a health camp for three weeks. We had so much fun there! The camp counselors and nurses took good care of us, the food was great, we had fruit and fresh juice for every meal. On the first day of the camp shift there was the Let’s Make Friends show. It was very interesting. In the middle of the summer we celebrated Neptune’s Day, we swam all day long and played with water guns. We stayed at the camp till August 7. September was warm and dry and beautiful with all green and golden trees. The caregivers took us for long strolls and we picked up autumn leaves and made pretty crafts with them. Now when the weather is cold and chilly and it drizzles all the time we stay indoors, we like to sing songs at music classes and watch cartoons.

	Discipler’s Update

Hello my friends,

This is Masha. I’m a new descipler at Nerekhta orphanage. I’ve made two visits to Nerekhta so far, but I’m already getting along with the kids. They are very open, friendly and craving for affection and attention. And I’ve embraced that opportunity to share my love and time with them. It felt so nice when all the kids remembered my name on my second visit to Nerekhta, they were very exited about the crafts that I’d prepared for them.

They love to color and work with materials that feel soft or simply interesting, like with the Dry Leaves and Construction Paper craft. And last time I brought a canvas bag for each kid to color it, we used fabric markers and stencils. They were exited about the bags which were a gift for them and they also liked the canvas texture. They like to touch things and discover the big world around them. So I plan on doing crafts with tissue paper and play dough.

I also want our crafts to be related to Russian tales and Bible Stories so I will read a story and then we’ll make a craft related to it. These kids are attentive and involved when you know how make them interested in a craft, a fairy tale or a game. They are very happy about your letters and love to receive pretty colorful cards and pictures.

	Caregiver’s Corner

Hello our American friends,

It’s Ludmila writing to you. I have been working at Nerekhta orphanage as a caregiver for 17 years already. Now I’m in charge of the pre-schoolers. This summer we were very glad about the chance to go to the health resort where we tried a new health improving program for children with special needs. Within the three weeks not only had the kids a lot of fun but had their health check-ups and all the necessary medical procedures as Ultraviolet Light Treatment, Electrophoresis Treatment, massage, breathing exercises. The kids received vitamins, healthy and nourishing meals, juices and fresh fruit desert. The treatment program has strengthened the kid’s physical health which makes the studying process more efficient.
