Whether or not you are already involved with Children’s HopeChest, 2023 is the perfect year for you to engage, encounter, and witness the transformational impact of the HopeChest model in action. Join us this summer in Africa for the experience of a lifetime!
You will be part of a small, personal group led by Ken Sparks, CEO and President. During this special time in Ethiopia and Uganda, you will get to interact with local staff on the ground, engage directly with the communities, and even experience a 3-day African Safari!

Children’s HopeChest is pioneering sustainable development projects through our CarePoint model that we believe is the future for nonprofit engagement. Rather than just hearing about the work, YOU will get to be on the ground and meet the people who are actively involved in transforming their communities with your help.
Encounter Communities Being Transformed
This trip will give you an opportunity to engage with the power of your compassion in action – firsthand. During your visit, you’ll get to see several community projects in realtime including:
- Local savings groups that help people experiencing poverty build financial stability
- Emotional health and wellness efforts
- Agricultural and animal husbandry projects that help families break the cycle of poverty
- Water kiosks and small businesses
- CarePoint operations and their holistic impact in the community
- Graduation from Uganda Leadership and Entrepreneurship Development Program (UGLDEP)
- The power of the community-to-community model during a U.S. Partner Visit at Ochuloi Uganda CarePoint
Depart U.S. on July 22
Arrive in Ethiopia on July 23
Depart Uganda on August 5
Travelers will purchase their own airline tickets with US departure routing through and connecting with the Vision Trip team in Washington DC (IAD). Airline travel details need to be coordinated with CHC Travel Manager before purchase of tickets.
Trip payments made to Children's HopeChest will cover your lodging, food, in-continent transportation, and safari.

This trip will also provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go on a 3-day African Safari at the iconic Murchison Falls National Park, taking place from Friday afternoon, July 28 to Sunday morning, July 30.
Discover the stunning beauty of Africa firsthand by exploring the majesty of the Nile with a riverboat cruise. In addition, savor local cultural meals and visit various marketplaces to purchase handmade crafts from local artisans. Don’t miss this chance of a lifetime to see God’s creation like never before!

A non-refundable deposit of $500 is due June 15.
Final payment for remaining ground costs is due June 30.
*Ground expenses include lodging, food, in-continent transportation, and safari.
**Flight cost for the international segments could vary based on the date the flight is booked. The airfare estimate is between $1,600-$2,100, in addition to the ground expenses listed above.
***Airfare costs will be individualized based upon the domestic city of departure with the intention to connect to the July 22, 10:45am departure from IAD to Ethiopia
