Lesibovu CarePoint

Lesibovu is a rural CarePoint in the community of Gundvwini in the center of Eswatini. Though Eswatini is a small country, it has the highest rate of HIV/AIDS in the world. Pastor Welcome, a local pastor, addressed the critical needs of the orphaned and vulnerable children in this area by establishing a CarePoint in his community. As is customary, he went to the chief asking permission to carry out the vision and for a plot of land to be designated for this purpose. The chief agreed to the vision and now Lesibovu is a CarePoint as well as a local church led by Pastor Welcome.

There are approximately 100 children, many of whom walk very far to attend and receive care at Lesibovu. Children line up with their plastic bowls in hand, playful smiles on their faces, eager to enjoy the food they receive and the care provided by the “gogos” (grandmothers) and Pastor Welcome.

With the partnership of the Jennifer Vines Connect Community, the children at Lesibovu CarePoint have the opportunity to grow physically, spiritually, and emotionally while the Connect Community also experiences positive transformation!

Empower a Child at Lesibovu

Empowering a child is one of the most personal ways that you can make an impact on global poverty. It is more than providing for their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. When you sponsor a child, you build a relationship that shows that child they are valuable, worth loving, and worth investing in.

Your sponsorship is the starting point of a journey that equips vulnerable children, their families, and their communities to create sustainable transformation. When you sponsor a child with HopeChest, you are not just supporting one child — you are helping transform entire communities.

Start a Fundraiser for Lesibovu

HopeChest’s approach to alleviating poverty is asset-based, because we believe that in every place on earth there are resources, not only for surviving, but for thriving and succeeding. Local leaders tell us what they do have instead of what they don’t have, and we walk with them to see their vision for their community come to fruition through development projects.

A fundraiser for Lesibovu CarePoint is transformational rather than transactional. It promotes empowerment rather than dependence. Your support for these projects will go a long way as, together, we invest in holistic and sustainable solutions that address the root issues of poverty.
