Change their story

Orphans of Teso 2025 Year End Fundraiser

This Christmas, you can help Change Their Story. Each year, we join together to bring lasting hope and opportunity to the communities we serve in Uganda. This season, our goal is to fund three transformational projects that will empower young people and families to become self-sufficient. Through vocational start-up tools and sustainable farming initiatives, we’re helping graduates turn their training into real businesses, supporting families in providing for themselves, and strengthening entire communities for the long term. Every gift—large or small—creates ripples of change that help break the cycle of poverty and build a future rooted in dignity, purpose, and hope.

Vocational Graduate Start-Up Tools – $18,800In May 2026, a total of 47 youth from the Ongongoja and Ogoloi CarePoints will graduate after completing training in various trades. To help them turn their new skills into sustainable livelihoods, we aim to provide each graduate with essential start-up tools to launch small businesses or independent projects. While these young men and women are equipped with valuable vocational skills, many lack the basic tools and resources needed to begin working immediately. Without them, they risk falling back into unemployment and poverty. Your support will bridge that gap—empowering 47 graduates to create meaningful work, support their families, and contribute to the growth and self-reliance of their communities.

Bukedea Mushroom growing – $8,790.00Bukedea CarePoint is launching a Mushroom-Growing Project to combat poverty, enhance nutrition, and foster self-reliance. By training 60 guardians and youth in small-scale mushroom farming using local materials, we aim to provide families with sustainable income and practical skills. Mushrooms will be grown in a simple structure at the CarePoint, harvested for both sale and use in daily meals, thereby boosting children’s diets with much-needed protein. Profits will support ongoing feeding and education programs while expanding the project. Malnutrition is widespread, and protein-rich foods are out of reach for many. This project offers a local, lasting solution—empowering families, especially women, with new livelihood options and helping our community thrive.
