Team Ceiba Blanca

On May 10, the Cornerstone Church community will be participating in the Amway River Bank Run in downtown Grand Rapids to raise support for the computer lab at Ceiba Blanca CarePoint in Guatemala. Please join us in supporting the Cornerstone Church and Ceiba Blanca CarePoint team!

About the Partnership

Cornerstone Church has partnered with Children’s HopeChest in the area of Ceiba Blanca, in Southwest Guatemala since November 2019. The village of Ceiba Blanca has about 900 people. There is no high school in the village, so most children only complete the 6th grade and begin to work at a young age to help support their families. Most in the community have informal and seasonal jobs, leaving families with low and inconsistent income. Due to the economic situation and lack of access to nutritious food, children are malnourished. Mision El Cristo de Nazareth (Mission the Church of Christ of Nazareth) is a local evangelical church that saw the need to help the youth of the village, so they began by implementing a VBS program. The members of the church are invested in their community to improve the lives of the children and their families.

With the partnership of the Cornerstone Church in Michigan, the children at Ceiba Blanca CarePoint have the opportunity to grow physically, spiritually, and emotionally while the Cornerstone Church community also experiences positive transformation!
