Igniting Hope in the World

At Children’s HopeChest, we empower orphaned and impoverished children and their communities through relationships that cultivate holistic transformation and sustainability. Our unique Community-to-Community model connects communities in the U.S. to communities overseas with a high population of orphaned and impoverished children.

We seek to bring lasting, positive transformation to those we serve, and in turn, our communities in North America are impacted as well.

Mission: Why are we here?

Inspired by Christ’s love, Children’s HopeChest releases the potential existing within vulnerable communities, starting with the children.

Theory of Impact: How do we do this?

We come alongside local leaders to cultivate holistic community development through two-way transformational relationships.

Empower local leaders to provide food, medical care, and hope to their communities, while sharing the gospel.

Work with local leaders to reduce, and eventually eliminate, poverty by creating self-sufficiency for every child and every family in their community.

Support partnering communities as they directly engage with overseas communities to create sustainable transformation using healthy international development practices.

Address the complex causes of poverty, including material, spiritual, emotional, social, economic, and educational needs.

Put systems in place to reduce, and eventually eliminate, poverty in all of its forms.

Tend to children’s holistic needs for survival, community, education, and employment.

Transform the lives of children and their communities through a focus on sustainability, independence, and long-term self-sufficiency.

Transform the lives of the partnering community members through exposure, education, relationship, service, and perhaps most importantly, instilling hope.

We believe that…

  • Every person has inherent value, abilities, and assets. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and grace.
  • Through partnership we can improve the lives of individuals and their community and in turn make the world a better place.
  • Transformation is not a quick fix or transactional. It must be long-term and self-sustaining.
  • Through building relationships, discipleship and education, the communities we serve realize their God-given potential, overcome generational poverty, and can rise to meet their potential.
  • We glorify God by coming alongside and loving the vulnerable.

Child Protection and Safety

Children’s HopeChest is committed to the care of children and believes that each child is a special creation, made in the image of God. We are emphatically opposed to any form of child abuse, exploitation, or oppression, and will strive to do everything possible to prevent such injustice. In turn, we have instituted certain policies and guidelines that are meant to govern the interactions of Children’s HopeChest staff members, contractors, partners, HopeChest Friends, and any others involved with children in our programs and the
surrounding communities.
