Hi, I’m Shawn Davis, and I invite you to join me on a journey of hope and transformation.
In March 2025, I traveled to Guatemala and witnessed firsthand how Children’s HopeChest is empowering communities through a powerful, Christ-centered approach. Rather than focusing on what’s lacking, HopeChest uses an Asset-Based Community Development model—coming alongside local leaders to build on the strengths and potential already present in their communities.

During my time in Guatemala, I connected deeply with the community of Cuyo. What inspired me most was the vision local leaders have for their children. At Cuyo CarePoint, children are being equipped not just with education and life skills, but with spiritual growth and a deeper understanding of who they are in Christ. By cultivating both faith and community engagement, HopeChest inspires students to become agents of hope within their own neighborhoods, creating a lasting impact that reflects the love of Christ.
That’s why I’ve become a HopeChest Ambassador—to stand alongside the Cuyo community and to invite others into this incredible story of redemption and renewal.

We are super excited to be raising funds for ongoing programs, projects, and students at the CarePoint in Cuyo, Guatemala..
Your support enables these graduates to become self-sufficient, lifting themselves and their families out of poverty while contributing to their communities. These tools are more than just equipment—they’re the foundation for a future full of potential!
Your donation will go towards:
- Vocational tools specific to each graduate’s trade (e.g., carpentry tools, sewing machines, etc.)
- Start-up capital to help them get their business off the ground
- Graduation ceremony expenses to celebrate their achievements and inspire the community
Shawn Davis is the Missional Pastor at St. Michael Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana. With a heart for discipleship and global missions, Shawn is passionate about connecting people to God’s mission of restoration—both locally and globally. His journey with Children’s HopeChest began after a life-changing visit to Guatemala, where he felt a clear calling to advocate for the Cuyo community.
