Aketa CarePoint is located in the remote village of Ongongoja, Katakwi District, Eastern Uganda, about 260 km northeast of Kampala. The community is resilient and hardworking, though many families face challenges such as extreme poverty, limited access to education, food insecurity, poor sanitation, and the prevalence of child marriage and early pregnancy.
In partnership with individual donors, Aketa CarePoint provides a safe and welcoming space where children and families can access programs that support education, leadership development, nutrition, health, and spiritual growth. Through these programs, children build on their strengths, families gain practical tools to thrive, and the community grows stronger.

Empowering a child is one of the most personal ways that you can make an impact on global poverty. It is more than providing for their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. When you sponsor a child, you build a relationship that shows that child they are valuable, worth loving, and worth investing in.
After checkout, you will be directed to a form where you may either upload or capture a photo of yourself. This photo will be used at the launch event at the CarePoint where the children in the program will select their “HopeChest Friend”.
