Chicacao CarePoint is located in the department of Suchitepéquez, in a warm and hardworking community of approximately 60,000 people. It is recognized for its agricultural production, particularly in crops such as coffee, lemons, plantains, and bananas, which drive the local economy. The people of Chicacao are resilient and dedicated to progress, valuing education, and actively participating in initiatives that empower families and promote sustainable development in the region.
Children’s HopeChest will integrate community members and stakeholders with expertise in areas such as education and health into our leadership team. We will also be working alongside a local church, government offices, to form this team. These leaders are fully committed to the transformation and empowerment of the community through programs and initiatives that promote holistic development and long-term sustainability.
With the partnership with Freshwater Community Church, the children at Chicacao CarePoint have the opportunity to grow physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Simultaneously, the Freshwater Community Church community experiences a reciprocal transformation, as together, we leverage the inherent assets of the Chicacao community to foster lasting positive change.
