The Onesimus Children Development Association is a nonprofit organization, established in 2006 in Addis Ababa. Onesimus seeks to rescue Ethiopia’s at-risk children, ensuring they remain in or return to a loving home.
The organization focuses its efforts on the rehabilitation and family integration of street children by running a drop-in center, as well as providing a halfway home for older children who have no family to live with. The drop-in center offers a safe place for children to come off the streets, receive food, participate in classes to prepare for formal education, and receive counsel and support from the CarePoint. Currently, Onesimus works with two primary groups of children: those who are on the verge of “streetism” and those who are full-time street children.
With the partnership of Olivet Lutheran Church, the children at Onesimus CarePoint have the opportunity to grow physically, spiritually, and emotionally while the Olivet Lutheran Church community also experiences positive transformation!
