The Poaquil CarePoint is a new CarePoint in Guatemala, created to bring hope and opportunity to children and families. For our CarePoint programming and community activities, the CarePoint must rent and equip suitable facilities that provide a safe, welcoming, and functional spaces for learning and growth. More than just a building, this space is envisioned as a beacon of light and hope in the community: a place where children feel seen, valued, and empowered to dream beyond their current circumstances.

A portion of sponsorship funds has been utilized as a good faith deposit payment already and to use for upfront minor renovations in order to secure the rental agreement which has been accomplished. To secure the rental of the facility, additional funding is needed to fully equip and prepare the space for program implementation. The total cost of this proposal is $16,695 (rent for 3 years), which will ensure that the Poaquil CarePoint can operate in a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for 200 children and families as we launch into Phase 1.

This is a short term need to begin programs and our work in the community. As stated in the Community Development Plan, we hope to own or our own facilities later in Phase 1 or 2.

• Secure and prepare a rental facility that meets safety, accessibility, and space standards to effectively host child-centered programs.
• Equip the facility with essential furnishings and materials to create functional and inspiring learning, mentorship, and spiritual growth.
• Cultivate community identity and trust by positioning the facility as a recognized center where children and families feel valued and supported.
• Engage local leaders and families in shaping the design, and use of the space to ensure cultural relevance and shared ownership.
• Promote volunteerism and local contributions to strengthen pride, and collective responsibility for the CarePoints success.
