Shashemene Gofa Sefer Bull Fattening Project

The Shashemene Gofa Sefer community, like many other underserved areas, faces significant challenges related to poverty, unemployment, and food insecurity. A substantial number of households struggle with limited income opportunities, leading to a cycle of dependency on external aid. While the CarePoint provides crucial support, there is a recognized need for sustainable interventions that equip families with the skills and resources to generate their own income.
Agriculture, particularly livestock rearing, presents a significant economic opportunity in the region. Shashemene and its surrounding areas are known for their active livestock markets and demand for quality meat. However, many vulnerable households lack the initial capital, knowledge, and access to resources required to engage in profitable livestock ventures. This project will benefit 50 households and will help to contribute to the graduation of the CarePoint.
