In Sidama, Ethiopia, Beyene Wako’s small plot of land offered little promise. Years of dry soil and uncertain harvests left his family struggling to survive.

Everything changed when one of his sons joined a local CarePoint, a place where children find education, nourishment, and belonging. One child’s hope soon became transformation for an entire family.

Through CarePoint programs, Beyene learned modern irrigation, crop rotation, and long-term farm planning. Today, his land yields three to four harvests each year. His children attend school consistently. His family’s income has grown nearly 8,000 percent.
