A Story of Hope

Jose's Story

José first came to the Puerta de Esperanza CarePoint eight years ago with his brother, Julio. At the time, both boys lacked official documentation and were unable to attend school. Their family worked hard to survive, but opportunities felt limited.

Through consistent care and advocacy from the CarePoint, José and his brother were eventually able to obtain the documents they needed. This opened the door to education and a new path forward.

Over time, José discovered a passion for cooking and pursued training to become a chef. Today, he is completing his professional practice at a restaurant in Guatemala City, gaining skills that will help him provide for himself and his family.

José’s story reflects the power of steady, relational support. When children are accompanied over time, barriers are removed and potential is unlocked.

Although you did not give directly to José, your generosity sustains CarePoints like Puerta de Esperanza, making stories like his possible around the world. Thank you for walking alongside children and families as hope takes root and futures are transformed.
