“God, Why Have You Sent Me Here?”

Three years ago my adventure in faith began, and I could have never imagined that it would take me where it has.

In 2017 I went on my first partner visit, which was my first time in Africa, and my first time experiencing the 100% unconditional love from children and people whom I had never met before. Truly a God-drenched land. Truly God’s people!

My first day at the CarePoint in Eswatini left me asking: “God, why have you sent me here? I’ve played with children all day! Is this what you want? How is this your work?”

Little did I know that God was planting the seed of relationship. Relationships that will continue to grow over the years to come. Relationships that I cherish.

Now fast forward to 2019 and I have completed my third partner visit to Eswatini. Each year that I have returned it amazes me how the children remember me! How they hold onto the memories made over just six days a year. These children love the relationship that we are building, as do I! I also think it is awesome to be able to keep in touch with the caregivers at the CarePoint. These women give of themselves without any thought. They cook two meals daily over very hot open fires in huge cast iron pots and never complain.

God is definitely everywhere we turn, every day of our lives. So often while living our busy and chaotic day to day lives we forget to look and listen for God and to see what creations are all around us. While in Eswatini one is reminded often of what God’s love is and looks like! His love shines through every person you meet during the visit and it is so “bright” that you can’t look away.

There is no way to ignore it! You are drawn in, accepted, and absorbing every second you can.

The partner visit to Eswatini for me is truly God-driven. It is God’s direction and path that I am following as I travel halfway across the world. It is in his name that I travel to not only share God with others but to absorb God as well!
