Expand the Circle of Impact
You're not standing outside the Circle of Impact, watching it happen. Your generosity brings you into it. On Giving Tuesday, December 1, every gift will be matched.
Give TodayFrom one child to 2,000 loaves a day.
"I am blessed because of this business."
Nine people depended on Ermias Debisa. Most days, he couldn't give them enough. Meals came up short, and without enough to eat, his children kept getting sick. He worked, and he worried, and it still wasn't enough.
Then his son Biniam walked through the doors of the Chapa CarePoint in Ethiopia. There, Biniam found medical care, school supplies, and so much more. And without anyone quite planning it, a door opened for his father, too.
Because Biniam was part of the CarePoint, Ermias joined a savings group. He learned how to run a business. He saved, little by little, until he could get the one thing he needed: a machine to bake bread.
Then he went to work.
Today, about 2,000 loaves leave Ermias's bakery every single day. That bread pays school fees. It keeps the water running and the lights on. It built his family a new home and bought new equipment so the bakery could keep growing. And in homes across his community, parents buy Ermias's bread to send their children off to school with breakfast.
The man who once couldn't feed his own family is now helping feed his neighbors' children. And he isn't finished. His dream now is to reach the neighbors who still have nothing to eat.
That's the Circle of Impact: one child, one family, one bakery, and a whole community fed.
Help the next family start.
Give TodaySee what becomes possible when we invest in one another.
The communities we serve aren't waiting to be rescued. They already have leaders, gifts, and potential. HopeChest comes alongside to help equip and release what's already there.
That's why we work Community-to-Community. A church or community in the U.S. partners long term with one CarePoint community, through letters, visits, prayer, and giving. Local leaders lead. Partners walk alongside.
Survive
Children receive meals, care, and a safe place to belong at their CarePoint.
Thrive
Families grow stronger through savings groups, job skills, and opportunity.
Succeed
The community is equipped to lead its own future, and the CarePoint graduates.
