Nyada is located in the Northeastern part of Uganda, approximately 420 km from Kampala, the capital city.
Over the last 50 years, this region has gone through tremendous turmoil, suffering, and massive destruction by neighboring communities as well as the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA). This grave disruption left thousands of people displaced and has contributed to the spread of disease (notably HIV/AIDS). The result of these events has lead to an increase in the number of orphaned children desperately in need of care. Many of those displaced from the violence are beginning to resettle in the community with the LRA no longer having a presence in Uganda.
With the partnership of Highland Baptist Church, the children at Nyada CarePoint have the opportunity to grow physically, spiritually, and emotionally while the Highland Baptist Church community also experiences positive transformation!
