Shone CarePoint is located in the southern region of Ethiopia, approximately 170 miles from the capital city, Addis Ababa.
Shone CarePoint is operated by Yehiwot Berhan Church, a local church that serves the community through intervention and development that focuses on impoverished families. Vulnerable children in the area often do not have the opportunity to attend school, and both daily meals and access to medical care are hard to come by. A number of families among the Shone community are small-scale farmers, utterly dependent on the weather and the amount of rainfall each year. This common practice in rural Ethiopia often leads the family unit to live “hand-to-mouth.”
Despite these hurdles, there is hope. Shone CarePoint operates as a drop-in center, a safe place where children can come for care and support. With the partnership of Wesley and Allison Hart Connect Community, the children at Shone CarePoint have the opportunity to grow physically, spiritually, and emotionally while the Wesley and Allison Hart Connect Community also experiences positive transformation!
