Five4Lives

Five4Lives is a way for youth to get involved with the life of an orphan.

Today, we’re seeing so many young people who have a passion and conviction to confront injustices they see in the world. They take seriously God’s mandate to feed the hungry and care for the poor.

But many say the problems of poverty, HIV, “orphan-hood,” and human trafficking are so vast, it’s hard to know where to start. Some youth are low on resources, but rich in energy and enthusiasm. HopeChest wants to be a resource for passionate youth to be the change in their world.

HopeChest’s Five4Lives Event engages youth with the tools they need to make a difference. This event is specifically designed for youth groups, church “small groups”, or college students to play a role in social activism, the kind Christ advocated, practiced, and mandates for believers today, while confronting the global epidemic of orphaned and marginalized children.

5 Dollars Can Change A Life

Change begins when a person contributes $5 a month through the Five4Lives Youth Event. All funds raised through the event are pooled into an emergency food and water fund created to combat poverty and provide relief, especially in times of famine or crisis. The event is called Five4Lives because only five dollars can change a life in Africa.

The event does not stop at giving $5. HopeChest wants youth to learn how they can effect change in the world and turn the tide in the orphan crisis.

HopeChest provides ways for individuals or groups to mobilize their friends or community – whether high school, church, or college – to join the fight against global poverty, especially as it impacts orphaned and vulnerable children.

Five4Lives EventKit

HopeChest will provide your group with a Five4Lives EventKit, which includes all the resources you need to host a meaningful and successful event that will challenge other young people to engage in social activism for orphans. The kit includes promotional videos, discussion topics, merchandise, fund-raising and game ideas.
